Dr Soo Wai Man has more than thirty years of teaching and instructional development experiences in tertiary and continuing education sectors. He has served at two local polytechnics in Singapore, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore Management University, and Citigroup, N.A. in e-learning design and faculty development. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as Deputy Director, at the Institute for Adult Learning, where he introduced blended e-learning into government-funded WSQ courses. He is an active contributor at the Learning Innovation Lab (In.Lab) where he facilitates hands-on workshops on e-learning design, development, implementation and facilitation. His workshops are consistently over-subscribed and received outstanding course evaluations. Wai Man is co-founder of Workskill Solutions LLP, established to offer integrated solutions for education, facilitation and e-learning implementation. Dr Soo holds a PhD in Education from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, and Master degrees in Education from Sheffield University and the United States International University.

Adam Brimo holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Software) and Bachelor of Arts (Politics) from University of New South Wales, Australia. He is the 2011 Choice Magazine Consumer Activist of the Year and recipient of the 2011 UNSW Alumni Graduand Award. Adam Brimo started his career at Macquarie Bank as a Software Engineer and Analyst in the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Group, and at Westpac Institutional Bank as a Senior Software Engineer. Adam Brimo led the successful Vodafail consumer activist campaign in 2010-2011, which resulted in nationwide media coverage, an ACMA inquiry and a $1bn network upgrade for Vodafone’s Australian business. In 2012, Adam joined David Collien and world renowned UNSW Professor Richard Buckland to found OpenLearning.com, a student centred online learning platform. Since then, over 850,000 students have joined courses, including the first Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from Australia and Malaysia. Adam Brimo is listed in the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia for Consumer Technology.

Mushtak Al-Atabi (Ph.D) is currently the CEO and Provost at Heriot Watt University (Malaysia). He is a mechanical engineer by training. He obtained his PhD from the University of Sheffield in the UK in the area of biological fluid mechanics. He has pioneered various educational innovations including the development of fully project based engineering curriculum. He has also initiated various technologically enhanced education programs.

Mushtak has many academic achievements as demonstrated by his citations in refereed journals and the prizes and awards he has received for his Research and Development activities. He has also led a number of educational initiatives including pioneering Project Based Learning and CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) framework in Malaysia. He also developed and delivered the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) in Malaysia in March 2013 and pioneered the use of MOOCs for corporate training and human resource development.


Professor, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, MALAYSIA

Suhaimi Abdul Talib, joined Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), formerly known as Institut Teknologi Mara (ITM) in 1988. He received his B.E (Hons) in Civil Engineering in 1986 at the University of Melbourne, Australia. In 1996 he obtained his Master of Science in Water and Environmental Management with Distinction at University of Loughborough, UK and in 2002 he completed his Ph.D. in Water and Wastewater Engineering at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He has been involved in teaching courses associated with Civil Engineering Programs at UiTM. Apart from teaching he is also actively involved in supervision of student projects at Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels.

He holds the position of Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and had served UiTM in various capacities including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Assistant Vice Chancellor (Facilities Development and Management and ICT) and Assistant Vice Chancellor (Puncak Alam and Puncak Perdana Campus), as well as various posts of leadership within the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

He is currently a Visiting Professor at UTHM and had been a Visiting Professor at the Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences, Germany. He was also appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales. Australia.

He has an extensive experience in development and review of curriculum for engineering programmes. He has served as member panel and later as lead panel for engineering accreditation for both the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) since 2004. He was later appointed as Member to the EAC for the session 2008-2010.  He was appointed as a member of the Expert Panel for the drafting of Standard on Engineering and Engineering Technology Programmes and also appointed as a member to the Accreditation Committee at the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

Selepas hilang upaya penglihatan, saya memperoleh pendidikan di peringkat menengah di Sekolah pendidikan Khas Cacat penglihatan Setapak, Kuala Lumpur (1989-1993) dan Methodist Boy School (1994-1995) sebelum meneruskan di peringkat tinggi di Universiti Malaya untuk Sarjana Muda Pentadbiran & Keadilan Sosial (2000). Alhamdulillah, diberi peluang menyambung pengajian di peringkat Sarjana dalam bidang Kaunseling di universiti yang sama (2005).

Aktif dalam program dan aktiviti dari sudut advokasi dan kesedaran terhadap isu OKU sepanjang pengajian dan hingga kini tetap aktif dalam menggerakkan usaha yang sama khususnya dalam proses pemerkasaan dan mendayaupayakan OKU dalam masyarakat. Kerjaya bermula di Jabatan Pembangunan Orang Kurang Upaya (JPOKU), jabatan kebajikan Masyarakat sebagai Pegawai Psikologi (Kaunselor), namun saya banyak terdedah dan diberi peluang untuk memperoleh pengalaman dan latihan dalam aspek pembangunan sosial khususnya yang melibatkan komuniti OKU.

Saya merupakan Jurulatih Disability Equality Training (DET) bertauliah dan mengikuti kursus Leadership and Networking on Disability di Tokyo Jepun (2013). Mulai Julai 2015, saya menggalas tugas dan tanggungjawab sebagai Pegawai Khas kepada timbalan Menteri pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat dalam menggerakan proses pembangunan berasaskan hak melalui strategi kerjasama merentasi pelbagai pihak dengan memberi tumpuan pada elemen pemerkasaan dan pendayaupayaan khususnya dalam aspek pekerjaan

As new technology continues to bypass some of us, Tim believes everyone should have a ‘technology focus’  – surely not everyone has the time to master SnapChat, bed shaking alarm clocks, delivery drones, IoT car gadgets or App-enabled cooking utensils at the same time!

A career technology professional, Tim has been working with technology in Higher Education since 2010 when he established the first international office for InPlace Software – in the UK. InPlace Software is the world leader in work based learning technology and Tim’s professional technology focus is keeping up technology trends in the Higher Education sector, which allows him to witness exciting new developments in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and software that can further the work based learning experience.

Tim, his wife and son are now based in Malaysia, Bangsar South, establishing InPlace Software in the South East Asia market.
